Business partners

Companies or other private partners can make investments that are unfeasible for public organisations but are nonetheless important. They can also contribute market-oriented insights to your research. What are the market-relevant outcomes, and what do you need to take into account if you wish to bring a result to market in the long term? Collaboration with private partners can also assist with the implementation of your innovation: in translating your proof-of-concept into a concrete product, investing in a prototype, production and marketing, and gaining access to (sales) networks.

Such collaboration does, however, require clear business agreements in advance – covering the division of tasks, returns on investment, intellectual property, and so on. For advice and practical assistance with this, you can contact a Technology Transfer Office (or Knowledge Transfer Office). Many knowledge institutions have such a TTO (or KTO). TTOs also protect your interests and those of your knowledge institution, and have access to a network of relevant companies.

Does your institution not have a TTO? Or would you like to discuss collaboration with companies? Please contact DEMPACT. We’d be happy to put our network to work for you.
