Privacy Policy

DEMPACT attaches great importance to the privacy of visitors and users of this website. In this privacy statement, we explain what data we process, why we do so and how we handle it.

Last updated: 4 May 2026.

1. Who are we?

DEMPACT is a consortium comprising four partners: Alzheimer Nederland (lead applicant), Movisie, Pharos and Vilans (see About DEMPACT). We are funded by ZonMw (see zonmw.nl).

Our offices are located at Alzheimer Nederland, Stationsplein 121, 3818 LE Amersfoort.

On DEMPACT.test, we share information to help dementia researchers and other stakeholders in dementia research to generate scientific and societal impact with their research findings. In addition, DEMPACT.test offers a tool that suggests potential collaboration partners based on information entered about a specific research project.

If you have any questions about this privacy statement, please contact us at:
communicatie@dempact.nl.

2. Personal data we process

In principle, DEMPACT does not process any personal data unless you actively provide it to us yourself. We explain this below for each functionality.

a. Visiting the website

You can visit our website without leaving any personal data behind.

b. Use of the impactpartner selection tool

DEMPACT.nl has a tool that suggests relevant collaboration partners, based on four characteristics of your research. You can access this tool via the ‘Find your impactpartners’ widget and via the ‘Impactpartners’ page.

The characteristics of the research that we ask for relate exclusively to the research itself; we do not ask for personal data.

  • The data you enter is stored locally in your browser via localStorage.
  • Are you emailing the tool’s results to yourself? If so, point 2.c below applies.

c. Forms and submissions

There are several forms on dempact.nl. These include the contact form, the ‘Share an activity with DEMPACT’ form, ‘Found a broken link’, ‘Register for an event’ and ‘Save impactpartner recommendations’. You can also email the results of the ‘Find your impactpartners’ tool to yourself. The following applies to these forms and the submission functionality:

  • we ask for an email address or telephone number to achieve the stated purpose;
  • DEMPACT uses this email address or telephone number solely to respond to your message or request;
  • every submission is stored for 14 days in a secure environment and then automatically and permanently deleted;
  • the storage of IP addresses whilst submitting forms is actively prevented.

d. Newsletter

When you subscribe to the DEMPACT newsletter:

  • we process your email address;
  • we store this email address in our email marketing tool (Spotler);
  • we measure engagement (such as opening the newsletter and clicking on links); these metrics cannot be traced back to an email address or individual.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter; your data will then be deleted from the email marketing tool.

3. Purposes of data processing

We therefore process data exclusively for the following purposes:

  • to respond to enquiries by email or telephone;
  • sending requested information (such as tool results);
  • sending and improving our newsletter.

4. Cookies

DEMPACT uses cookies to ensure the website functions properly and to gain insight into how the website is used. Below you can read about which cookies we use and for what purposes.

a. Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly and cannot be disabled. Examples:

  • CookieConsent: remembers your cookie preferences
  • __cf_bm: protects the website against bots and misuse
  • rc::a / rc::c: distinguishes between humans and bots (reCAPTCHA)
    Retention period: up to 1 year.

b. Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies provide us with insights into how the website is used; we use them to measure interactions such as page views and form submissions. This helps us understand how we can improve the website. We use the following for this purpose:

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, ga[ID])
  • Server-side tracking (including FPID, FPLC via TAGGRS)
  • Contentsquare (cs* cookies)

Data processing: We have configured our analytics to be as privacy-friendly as possible, in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Retention period: up to 24 months.

c. Cookies from external platforms (such as YouTube and Spotify)

On some pages, we use content from external platforms, such as videos from YouTube and audio from Spotify. These platforms may set cookies to:

  • display content correctly
  • remember user preferences
  • measure interaction and usage

Examples:

  • YouTube cookies (such as VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC)
  • Spotify cookies (such as sp_t, sp_landing)

These cookies may also be used for tracking and marketing purposes by these third parties.

5. Sharing data with third parties

We only share personal data with third parties where this is necessary for the provision of our services. This applies solely to the newsletter: for this, we use Spotler. We do not sell data to third parties.

6. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and unauthorised access to data.

7. Your rights

As we do not, in principle, store any personal data (except for the newsletter), most rights apply to a limited extent. Where applicable, you have the right to:

  • access your data;
  • have your data corrected or deleted;
  • withdraw your consent (for example, for the newsletter).

8. Changes

We may amend this privacy statement. The most up-to-date version is always available on this page.
