Dementia research
What problem are these 10 dementia consortia working on? And what are the benefits of this research? Click to find out.

BIRD-NL
BIRD-NL carries out research to better understand the risks of dementia and to reduce them.

TAP-dementia
Many people with dementia are not told until late in the course of the disease (or not at all) which condition is causing their dementia. TAP-dementia wants to change that. Because an accurate diagnosis is the foundation for personalised care.

NCDC
The NCDC is combining data from cohort studies in the search for further answers. How do risk factors cause brain damage? What biomarkers are there, and how are they linked to behaviour?

SPREAD+
Many interventions for dementia that have been proven to be effective are rarely used. SPREAD+ aims to change this.

MODEM
What happens in the brain in cases of dementia? And how can you spot the signs earlier? MODEM is investigating this.

YOD-INCLUDED
Young people with dementia often do not receive the care they need. YOD-INCLUDED is working on solutions.

ABOARD
To halt the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, a personalised approach is needed, meaning that prevention, diagnosis and prognosis must be tailored to the individual. That is what ABOARD is working on.

YOD-MOLECULAR
A diagnosis of dementia at a young age is often made too late, as it frequently presents differently from dementia in older people. YOD-MOLECULAR is working to improve diagnostic methods.

QoLEAD
QoLEAD develops smart care technology and explores how to organise it in such a way that the technology truly reaches people with dementia (and their loved ones) – and brings about a lasting improvement in their lives.

NDPI
A healthier lifestyle can reduce your risk of dementia. But how do you reach the people most at risk? And how do you support them further? That is what the NDPI is investigating.
