Alzheimer Nederland
Alzheimer Nederland aims to prevent, treat or cure dementia. And until that is possible, the organisation is committed to improving the quality of life of people with dementia and those around them. Alzheimer Nederland therefore funds research into dementia, provides support and advice at national and regional levels, advocates for the interests of people with dementia and their loved ones, and works towards a dementia-friendly society.
Engagement with target groups and knowledge dissemination
Among other things, Alzheimer Nederland aims to make a difference to the (future) lives of people with dementia and their loved ones through scientific research. The organisation maintains contact with these target groups and can advise researchers on their role in research. Alzheimer Nederland disseminates knowledge about dementia, for example via dementie.nl. In addition, the organisation utilises its network wherever possible to facilitate research and disseminate knowledge. As the largest private funder of scientific research into dementia, the organisation also funds research and invests in, amongst other things, the education, training and development of talented researchers.
DEMPACT partner
Alzheimer Nederland is one of the organisations that together form the DEMPACT consortium (project leader). Furthermore, Alzheimer Nederland plays an active role in a number of dementia consortia: ABOARD, QoLEAD, SPREAD+, NDPI, BIRD-NL, YOD-INCLUDED, YOD-MOLECULAR, MODEM and NCDC.
