Academische werkplaatsen SANO

In an academic workshop (AW), research, practice, policy and education work closely together. As a result, an AW can provide researchers with insight into the needs and working methods of practice and policy; and help to apply research findings, often at a local level.

Of the Dutch academic workshops for elderly care, six have joined forces in SANO, the Partnership of Academic Networks for Elderly Care (all of which are coalition partners of DEMPACT):

  • Academic Workplace for Elderly Care (AWO) Limburg
  • Nijmegen University Knowledge Network for Elderly Care
  • Groningen University Knowledge Network for Elderly Care
  • University Network for Elderly Care, Amsterdam
  • University Network for the Care Sector in South Holland (UNC-ZH)
  • Tranzo Tilburg

In addition, there is AWO Zeeland (also a coalition partner of DEMPACT).

More research centres

But there are other academic workplaces that may be relevant to (your) dementia research. These include academic workplaces run by GPs and those run by (community) nurses, as well as the NGN Implementation Workplace.

Curious to find out which academic workshop might be relevant for applying or improving your research? DEMPACT is happy to help and can draw on its network.
