Landelijk Platform Odensehuizen

The Landelijk Platform Odensehuizen (LPO) is a partnership comprising some 67 Odensehuizen across the Netherlands. An Odensehuis is a meeting place for people with early-stage dementia and their loved ones. Odensehuizen provide support, share knowledge, challenge prejudices about dementia, and help people with dementia to continue playing a meaningful role. The aim is to create a dementia-friendly society and to enable people with dementia to live at home as well as possible.

Application: at home and in the community

The LPO is a coalition partner of DEMPACT, as Odensehuizen can help apply research findings that contribute to a dementia-friendly society and enable people with dementia to live well at home. Every Odensehuis has an extensive network within neighbourhood associations, education, the business community, the social sector and (care) organisations. Together, they organise meaningful daytime activities, (art) activities and projects, involving different generations. The LPO also promotes research to highlight the effectiveness and importance of the Odensehuizen.
