Knowledge Centre for Young Onset Dementia

The Knowledge Centre for Young Onset Dementia (KCYOD) is committed to ensuring high-quality care and support for young people with dementia (and their loved ones). In addition, the knowledge centre promotes quality of care and expertise, and advocates for the interests of people with early-onset dementia and those who care for and support them. The KDJL consists of a network of organisations: care providers, Alzheimer’s centres and knowledge partners. Healthcare professionals from these organisations are also affiliated with the centre.

Translating knowledge into practical care information

The Knowledge Centre for Young Onset Dementia is a coalition partner of DEMPACT and is involved in several scientific studies, including that of the YOD-INCLUDED consortium. The knowledge centre also promotes the translation of research findings into practical and clear information that improves care and support. The organisation contributes to the translation of research questions into research projects. Thanks to its extensive network, the knowledge centre also has insight into both the needs of young people with dementia (and their carers) and the knowledge requirements of healthcare professionals.
