GGD
Municipal Health Services (GGDs) protect, monitor and promote the health of the population of the Netherlands. GGDs have a number of statutory duties, including health monitoring and health education. In addition, each GGD also carries out supplementary tasks for its municipality or municipalities, such as providing social and medical advice.
Together with local authorities, the GGDs play an important role in the prevention of and public awareness about dementia. Do you wish to disseminate new insights or other research findings through public information campaigns or prevention programmes? If so, the GGDs are a key point of contact. It is important to involve them at an early stage, as they are crucial stakeholders in terms of local support, access to local networks, collaboration and the organisation of your implementation process.
Movisie, a DEMPACT consortium partner, acts as a sounding board for many local authorities and GGDs, helping them to improve access to the welfare and social services sector. DEMPACT would be happy to tell you more about this and can put you in touch with relevant local authorities.
