Alzheimer Centres in the Netherlands
There are five Alzheimer’s Centres in the Netherlands. These centres bring together research, treatment and support. They were established to promote high-quality scientific research into dementia and the practical application of its findings. The exchange of knowledge and experience forms part of this.
The five centres are: the Alzheimercentrum Amsterdam, the Alzheimercentrum ErasmusMC (Rotterdam), the Alzheimer Centrum Groningen, the Alzheimer Centrum Limburg (Maastricht) and the Radboud Alzheimer Centrum (Nijmegen). All Alzheimer Centres conduct research into the causes of dementia, its prevention and cure, diagnosis and quality of life. In addition, each Alzheimer Centre has its own area of specialism.
