Conference on Non-Congenital Brain Injury

Conference on Acquired Brain Injury
23 September 2026 | 9.45 am – 4.15 pm | Hotel Reehorst | Ede |
Dementia falls under the category of acquired brain injury (ABI). The consequences of NBI are complex. Effective care and support require collaboration between professionals from different fields. That is why this conference has been organised, featuring lectures and practical workshops on support at home, in rehabilitation or in long-term care. It is organised by BSL Media & Learning, a coalition partner of DEMPACT.
The focus is on four overarching themes:
- Behaviour & awareness: recognising misunderstood behaviour, dealing with limited insight into one’s condition and motivation issues.
- Recovery & rehabilitation: supporting clients with cognitive fatigue, sensory overload and functional recovery.
- Collaboration & context: ensuring optimal coordination with informal carers and fellow healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge & the future: current insights and technological innovations in acquired brain injury care.
