The Smart Care Relay (SZE) focuses on innovation in care and wellbeing. Each week has its own theme and a new programme packed with inspiring activities, real-life examples and networking opportunities. In this way, we share knowledge, experiences and ideas with one another and work together on the dementia care of tomorrow.
The SZE offers dementia researchers excellent opportunities:
- you can share your knowledge and experience of digital dementia care or innovation through an interactive session,
- and encourage healthcare professionals or policymakers to reflect on these topics.

Theme weeks
In 2027, the Smart Care Relay will be organised around national theme weeks. This encourages cross-regional collaboration, the exchange of knowledge and the sharing of inspiring practical examples. In this way, the organiser, Zorg Voor Innoveren, hopes to find joint solutions to current issues.
- 1–5 March: AI in healthcare
- 8–12 March: Prevention, healthy & independent living
- 15–19 March: Labour-saving measures & job satisfaction
- 22–26 March: Implementation & scaling up
