ZonMw Call for Proposals: Innovative Therapies for Dementia

Information Session & Pre-registration

October, 2 & 6 2026 | Hybrid & Online

ZonMw is launching a call for proposals for Innovative Therapies for Dementia. The aim is to stimulate the further development of innovative therapies that are at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4 to 6. With the grant, projects must advance by at least one TRL level.

  • 2 October 2026, 13:30 – 14:30: hybrid information session – Visit zonmw.nl for registration details!
  • 6 October 2026, 14:00: deadline for submitting a preliminary application.
  • 1 December 2026, 14:00: deadline for submitting a detailed grant application.

By ‘therapies’, ZonMw means pharmacological interventions, technologies, digital interventions and neuromodulation that delay, prevent or reduce the effects of dementia. You can apply for a grant for:

TRL 4–5: research into proof of concept, initial preclinical studies, validation of a prototype or a production pilot for a medicinal product.

TRL 6: demonstration of a prototype in a test environment or a Phase I clinical trial, utilising existing knowledge to further develop innovative therapies towards application.

Business case

Public-private partnerships are not mandatory but are encouraged. A clear business case is important for all projects. It must also be clear how the knowledge, technology or intellectual property developed can ultimately lead to a product or service on the market.
