Dutch Dementia Research Conference 2027

Around 400 dementia researchers, international guests, and interesting private parties attended the 2026 Dutch Dementia Research Conference. We expect significant participation from both within and outside the dementia research community in 2027 as well.

Keynote speaker: Catherine Mummery

World-renowned scientist Prof. Dr. Catherine Mummery is one of the keynote speakers at the DDRC!

Mummery chairs the Dementia Translational Research Collaboration and directs the Dementia Trials Network (both within the National Institute for Health and Care Research, NIHR). Through these roles, she is building a national, integrated network for early-stage clinical trials and working to accelerate and improve translational research into new dementia treatments.

In addition, Mummery is Head of Clinical Research at the Dementia Research Centre, University College London (UCL). She has served as principal investigator for more than twenty early-stage clinical trials investigating potential therapies for rare and genetic forms of Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. As the clinical lead for the UCL Neurogenetic Therapies Programme, she heads an innovative industry-academia partnership aimed at accelerating progress in genetic therapies for dementia.

About DDRC

During this one day conference in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (1931.nl), all Dutch dementia research will be covered, from fundamental to applied research in healthcare and wellbeing, while also highlighting emerging themes such as technology and business. You will meet most of Dutch dementia researchers, international guests and interesting private parties.

Every edition of the DDRC includes various parallel sessions, poster presentations and engaging speakers. There is ample opportunity to get to know each other and learn about implementation, best practices and target-group participation. At this conference we collectively make a significant contribution to the implementation of dementia research.

Zo’n 400 dementieonderzoekers, internationale gasten én interessante private partijen meldden zich aan voor de Dutch Dementia Research Conference editie 2026. Ook in 2027 verwachten we grote betrokkenheid van binnen en buiten het dementieonderzoek.

Key-note speaker: Catherine Mummery

Wereldwijd gerenommeerd wetenschapper prof. dr. Catherine Mummery is één van de key-note speakers tijdens de DDRC!

Mummery is voorzitter van de Dementia Translational Research Collaboration, en directeur van de Dementia Trials Network (beide binnen National Institute for Health and Care Research, NIHR). Zij bouwt hiermee aan een nationaal, geïntegreerd netwerk voor klinische studies in een vroeg stadium en werkt ze aan de missie om translationeel onderzoek naar nieuwe behandelingen voor dementie te versnellen en te verbeteren.

Daarnaast is Mummery hoofd klinisch onderzoek bij het Dementia Research Centre, University College London (UCL). Zij was hoofdonderzoeker bij meer dan twintig vroege klinische studies naar potentiële middelen tegen zeldzame vormen van Alzheimer en genetische vormen van Alzheimer en frontotemporale dementie. Als klinisch leider van het UCL Neurogenetic Therapies Programme stuurt zij een innovatief samenwerkingsverband aan tussen de industrie en de academische wereld, gericht op het versnellen van de vooruitgang in genetische therapieën voor dementie.

Over DDRC

Al het Nederlandse dementieonderzoek komt aan bod, van fundamenteel tot toegepast onderzoek in de zorg en het welzijn, maar er is ook aandacht voor opkomende thema’s zoals technologie en business.

Elke editie omvat diverse parallelsessies, posterpresentaties en boeiende sprekers. Er is volop gelegenheid om elkaar te leren kennen en te leren over implementatie, best practices en doelgroepparticipatie. Tijdens deze conferentie leveren we gezamenlijk een belangrijke bijdrage aan de implementatie van dementieonderzoek.
